Newsline – Khalid Muhammad discusses the Saudi-Pakistan alliance

Speaking with Khuldune Shahid from Newsline Magazine, Khalid Muhammad, Director General – CommandEleven, expanded on the recent 34-nation alliance that has been formed to fight ISIS in Syria and the Middle East.

Muhammad continues, “The war has been with bullets and missiles, rather than messaging and narratives. The bullets and missiles, as we have seen in Pakistan, will get you so far in the battle. But what happens after is more significant.

“Winning a military battle to lose it in the chambers of power because of ill-planning or ineffective execution, is much more problematic than winning the fight on the ground. Terrorism can only be defeated when you counter and eliminate the ideology that recruits, mobilises and drives the fighters.”
